Ionia Reentry is a structured transitional housing organization dedicated to supporting individuals returning to the community after incarceration, housing instability, or other hardships. We provide safe, stable, and supportive housing environments where residents can rebuild their lives with dignity, structure, and accountability.
Our mission is to break the cycle of homelessness, recidivism, and instability by offering guidance, routine, life-skills support, and pathways to independence. We believe every person deserves a second chance — and a stable place to start again.
Ionia Reentry offers more than housing. We provide:

We serve adults who need structure, support, and a safe place to call home, including:
- Veterans transitioning from incarceration or housing instability
- Justice-involved veterans and non-veterans
- Veterans undergoing dialysis
- Women, including female veterans and single mothers with children
- Young adults aging out of foster care
- Non-veteran adults eligible for structured, supportive housing
Our Network of Homes
Ionia Reentry operates multiple specialized homes, each designed to address specific community needs:
Current Homes:
- Shelia House — Transitional housing for women, including female veterans and single mothers with children
- Matthews House — Structured reentry housing for men, including veterans and non-veterans transitioning from incarceration or housing instability
- House of Don — Independent living housing for individuals undergoing dialysis
Upcoming Programs:
- Cathryn Home — Independent living for young adults aging out of foster care, providing stability and support as they transition to adulthood
- Betty Joyce Home — Sober living housing designed to support recovery, accountability, and long-term independence
- Ionia Reentry House (New) — Housing for individuals transitioning from incarceration, offering structured support to help residents reintegrate successfully into the community
Together, these current and upcoming homes allow us to serve a diverse population of veterans, justice-involved individuals, women and single mothers, youth aging out of foster care, and other adults in need of structured, supportive housing. Our programs combine safe housing, guidance, and wrap-around services to help residents rebuild stability, independence, and long-term success.
